Our Team

Dr Cecile Chu (MBBS, FRACGP, DCH)

Dr. Cecile Chu is the Founder and Principal GP of Boothy’s Medical Practice, established with a specific mission to transform healthcare delivery in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACF). Since 2020, Dr. Chu has dedicated her practice to building onsite clinics within facilities, ensuring that elderly residents receive accessible, “modern quality care” comparable to the wider community, without the stress of external travel.

Her expertise in aged care is built on a solid foundation of diverse medical training. During her residency, Dr. Chu gained critical experience in geriatrics, stroke rehabilitation, renal, and palliative care units, as well as emergency and critical care medicine. This background allows her to expertly manage the complex, chronic, and multi-faceted medical conditions often faced by aged care residents. Furthermore, as a Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) Authorised Practitioner since 2023, Dr. Chu is committed to providing compassionate, dignified options and support for patients at every stage of life.

Beyond general management, Dr. Chu brings essential procedural skills directly to the bedside. She is trained in minor surgery and performs necessary treatments onsite—such as skin checks, biopsies, excisions, and cryotherapy—ensuring swift and comfortable care for her patients.

Dr. Chu is also a passionate leader in the medical community. She has served as a Vice President of the Australian Chinese Medical Association and is a supervisor for IMG training, mentoring the next generation of doctors. Her commitment to education, evidenced by her past role as a subject co-ordinator and lecturer at UTS, ensures that Boothy’s Medical Practice remains at the forefront of medical best practices and safety standards.
